first edition, original printed wrappers, browning to spine and fore-edges, very small water-stain to margin of upper cover, but overall an excellent copy, [Gekoski & Grogan A1], 1934.

***An excellent copy of Golding's first book, a legendary rarity This, Golding's only book of poems, was published when he was just 23 years old. In later life he almost disowned the work. In his book Modern First Editions Joseph Connolly says "Very, very scarce: one of these books that is worth what a collector is willing to pay!".
