DATE:Prehistoric 1600's PUEBLO:Rio Grande ETHNICITY:Native American DESCRIPTION: As found condition, has not been cleaned. Rare Prehistoric Rio Grande Biscuit Ware Painted New Mexico Feather Design Bowl, black on white. The feather design runs around mid-bowl, with circular line accents, the outside of bowl is decorated with geometric and ladder designs, the top of the rim is dotted with black slash marks and there is a 1.5'' triangular chip missing from the rim. Below chip a crack extends down and across the bottom of the bowl. On either side of the crack are two holes with small piece of leather knotted through holes, which is a technique used to strengthen the bowl where there is a crack. This bowl is in ''as found'' condition, with no restoration. The bowl is from the Miller Estate 1950's Collection El Paso, TX. SIZE: Measures approx. 3.5''H x 8.5''D. Acquired in accordance with all State and Federal Regulations.
