Pair of Venetian blackamoors circa 1890, each hand carved figure having an ebonized body accented with gilt and polychrome decorated reserves rising on a graduated partial gilt plinth, 74''h Provenance: Purchased by Iconic American designer Dorothy Draper in the 1930's for her St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco commission. The blackamoors graced the entrance of The Compass Room until 1993, 1993-Present, Private Collection
