Assembled sterling silver and Chinese jade stationary tray with mountings by Edward Farmer, the reticulated nephrite plaque carved with Hehe Erxian characteristically carrying a box or holding a lotus sprig and accented by three auspicious bats and lingzhi, all set below a glass disk forming the floor of the dish, the sterling silver walls featuring blossoms meandering in low relief on a granulated ground, the exterior side marked 'Edward I Farmer New York' and 'Sterling', all raised on four chalcedony supports, overall: 4.125 Provenance: Deaccession USC Fisher Museum of Art, Los Angeles, California, to benefit the Acquisitions Fund
