Chinese famille verte decorated porcelain square dish, late Qing/Republic period, the well depicting two pairs of dragons and phoenixes in pursuit of a sacred jewel to the center amid clouds, yellow and black enameled diaper panels on the sides, the exterior with reserves of floral sprigs, 5.25''w; Provenance: Deaccession USC Fisher Museum of Art, Los Angeles, California, to benefit the Acquisitions Fund

Condition report

Square dish: surface of the interior well scattered with very fine kiln grit, mainly visible in the white areas of the design with a few gray-hued patches; some wear to the glaze along the edge; overall surface wear (minor scratches); glaze with some iridescence; otherwise no apparent chips, crackes and/or restorations.
