Chinese polychrome enameled porcelain square sectioned vase, Qing dynasty, 19th century, each side of the tapering columnar body enameled with a celestial warrior in military garb and wielding a weapon above sawtooth and comb-tooth patterns at the base, the angular shoulder with four coral butterflies on a tendril ground contrasting with a stiff leaf band to the neck, the recessed base with an underglaze blue ring mark encircling an apocryphal red enameled Wanli mark (grounded neck, minor hairline crack to corner), 20.5''h; Provenance: Deaccession USC Fisher Museum of Art, Los Angeles, California, to benefit the Acquisitions Fund
