Chinese Ming-style wucai decorated covered porcelain container, the lid of the rectangular box with sloping and canted corners and painted in underglaze blue and overglaze enamels with a pair of dragons contesting a flaming jewel above a lishui border, the sides and lower body with further confronted dragons amid cloud scrolls, the short sides featuring phoenix birds in flight, the base with an apocryphal Wanli mark, 9.25''l

Chinese wucai decorated porcelain box: the glazing to the interior of box and lid are rather cursory with brush stroke, and thinly applied patches burnt red in firing, the unglazed sides and rim extensively soiled, now of a dark hue; unglazed foot of box soiled with some kiln grit; a few kiln flaws; the rim of the box with a small chip. Otherwise with no other apparent repairs and/or restorations.
