Chinese hardwood armchair with mother-of-pearl inlay, late Qing/Republic period, the back splat centered with an inset wood roundel framed by a band of bats alternating with shou medallions executed in mother-of-pearl inlay and bracketed by openwork with birds perched amid prunus blossoms, above the inlaid studio name 'gong he long zao', the shaped arms each joined to spandrels reticulated as a flower basket and further connected to the seat inset with a rectangular floating panel, the elaborate apron reticulated with blossoms and butterflies and fitted to supports resting on claw-and-ball terminals braced by humpback stretchers (some losses of inlay and repairs), 38.5''h x 26''w x 17.75''d
