Chinese carved hardwood armchair, late Qing/Republic period, the wide rectangular seat fitted with a narrow back panel carved with a bat suspending a chime, bracketed with fret work repeated onto the shaped arms as well, the contoured apron with scrolls picked out in low relief while joined to the beaded supports braced with plain stretchers (reinforced with screws and repaired), 38.5''h x 27.6''w x 21.25''w; Provenance: from the Tiburon/San Francisco Estate of Gerda Kircher
