Thomas Willis worked and lived in New York , USA, (American, born 1850- died 1917 or 1925.) Oil painting with silk and velvet application of the steam yacht "Hauoli" completed by Robbins Drydock Company, Brooklyn N.Y. i 1903. Measures approx. 19" x 33" in original frame liner and now set in a contemporary shadowbox frame under glass and appears in excellent condition. Thomas Willis was a contemporary of Antonio Jacobsen in New York ( they did also co-operate occasionally). He is well known for his ship portraits of merchant shipping and yachts around the turn of the 20th century and represented in several Maritime Museums in the USA.
