Paul Wescott (American, 1904-1970) watercolor of a courtyard scene depicting academic buildings after engraving of "Yale University - 1825" . 15" high, 18 1/4" wide; sight size: 9 1/2" high, 13 1/2" wide. Paul Wescott was a Milwaukee born landscape painter who attended the Art Institute of Chicago as well as the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. His landscapes and especially his coastal paintings express the quiet yet powerful tonality of nature. He has exhibited throughout the country at institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
