Buckner holds a BFA and MFA in art from UNC-Greensboro, where he won the Chancellor’s Award for graduate students and the Herbert & Virginia Howard Scholarship. His work has been shown in the 1984 North Carolina Artists Exhibition at the N.C. Museum of Art; three Art on Paper exhibitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum; various shows at the Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art; and other shows at both public and private galleries.
