EXCELLENT ROMAN COIN FOR A MAN, 248 A.D.

Lot Passed

Measures: 22mm - About .90" Diameter. Metal: Custom Sterling Silver Bezel. Coin: Silver Antoninianus. Pendant features a fine silver antoninianus coin featuring the Roman ruler Philip I. Also known as Philip the Arab, he was a benevolent ruler who did not persecute the Christians. He is also known for having presided over the 1000th anniversary of the founding of Rome in April of the year 248. A bold image with a great spiked headdress. This coin has been set in a prongless sterling silver mounting which makes it an excellent choice for a man.
