The well-forged and profiled hook and spike finial of characteristic form. The wooden haft expands toward the pommel and is polychromed overall with naturalistic lions hunting deer and other prey, on a black ground with gilt highlights. Mid-18th century. Head lightly pitted, rubs to haft. Overall length 54.4 cm. Condition III
