The forged iron hilt of characteristic form, elaborately chiseled overall, with downturned quillons terminating in elaborate monster heads. The broad, lightly curved, single-edged handforged blade with expanded tip and back edge. With Genoa marks and a lightly-struck oval cartouche at the right forte. In its tooled leather-covered wooden scabbard with iron mounts. Mid-19th century. Lightly worn overall. Overall length 95.1 cm. Condition II
