The hilt with bifurcate pommel, elaborately embossed, engraved and hilt heavily gilt overall. The broad, recurved blade with armor-piercing tip and paneled forte with punched scene of a dog pursuing a deer to either side. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with richly gilt mounts en suite with the hilt. Mid-19th century.Overall length 39.3 cm. Condition I
