The grip with typical flared pommel and bone finial inlaid with horn device, the grip wrapped with braided rattan and covered in red lacquer, the ferule of brass and finely-wrought of silver. The stout, chisel-edged blade with characteristic flared tip, its layer-forged construction visible near the cutting edge. In its carved wooden scabbard with rattan bindings, the shoulder-sling embellished with a partial jawbone retaining several teeth, one quite large. Late 19th century. Light wear overall. Overall length 77.5 cm. Condition II
