Made under contract to the British military between 1797-98, and marked TOWER beneath a crowned broad arrow. An ingeniously-designed mechanism made without screws, the cock enclosed by the lockplate. Late 18th century.Very light pitting, period repair to sear and pan protector.Functional. For further information, see H. L.
