An exceptional example, with staghorn grips carved in flowering vine motifs and engraved and nielloed silver tangband, toggle and bolsters. The straight, single-edged blade forged of fine Persian Kara Khorassan wootz damascus steel, the wooden scabbard covered in rayskin, the silver mounts with pierced terminals superbly engraved and nielloed in Ottoman floral and vine motifs en suite with those of the hilt. Latter 18th century. Overall length 35 cm. Condition I
