The elegant silvered hilt overlaid in gold. The long, moderately curved, single-edged blade finely forged of actively-patterned Persian black wootzdamascus steel. LABOR, MIR MUHAMMAD KHAN TALP(U)R!and in three gold-inlaid cartouches, ALLAH’S VICTORY IN MY HANDS!ASSISTANCE FROM ALI, UPON WHOM PEACE! andOALLAH! O MUHAMMAD!In its embroidered silk-covered wooden scabbard.Late 18th-early 19th century. Light wear. The Kingdom of Sindh was ruled by the Talpur clan, who were descendants of the Afshar Dynasty of Iran. Mir Muhammad was the son of ‘Ali Sarkar Mir Sohrab Khan, who reigned Sindh from 1783-1830.
