An exceptional example with finely-figured walrus grip, the ferrule inlaid in gold with flowering vines and signed, WORK OF MAHMUD. The elegant, single-edged blade forged of finely-patterned Persian black and silver wootz damascus steel. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large silver mounts, finely pierced and engraved. Mid-18th century.Overall length 34.4 cm. Condition I
