A fine example with the grip of characteristic form, carved of a single section of elephant, retaining its silk tassel. The blade with T-back and raised, chamfered edge, with a Timurid split-palmette chiseled at the spine between raised borders. Forged of superior Persian black wootz damascus steel. Early 18th century.Stable crack to grip.Overall length 37cm. Condition II
