Finely forged from finely-patterned Persian wootz steel, with rolled rim and raised center, the border heavily inlaid in gold in four sections, involving intertwining vinework with intermittent cartouches containing hunting beasts and their prey, including lions and deer. With an applied crescent and four domed bosses with scalloped edges, likewise inlaid overall in gold.Exceptionally well-detailed and executed overall.Early 18th century. Very light wear.
