A private purchase weapon, likely made for a Kuban officer. The grip of characteristic form, the blade lightly curved, with a continuous central fuller. In its leather covered wooden scabbard with red velvet mounts edged in silver galloon in the shalvar style, with nielloed silver suspension band. Second half of the 19th century. Stable cracks to grip, light wear overall. Overall length 94.5 cm. Condition II
