The work of a Kenyah group, displaying rattan weaving of exemplary skill.The rounded, rigid skull with a pronounced peak at brow and nape, reminiscent of a European burgonet or morion. Surmounted by a panache of pheasant feathers which arc back over the skull. Second half of the 19th century.Overall length 32.9 cm. Condition I
