The steel mounts elegantly inlaid with scrolling silver borders and elaborate star motifs characteristic of Damascus work, with pendent Ottoman silver coin with coral bead on the pommel and twisted brass wire to the base of the dark horn grips. The fine blade forged of Persian Kara Khorassan wootz steel and boldly chiseled at the right forte, VICTORY FROM GOD AND CONQUEST NEAR!bordered in gold, and at the left with two cartouches, the upper inscribed, O JUDGE OF NEEDS!, the lower containing a pictogram of a lion. With bordered back fullers and original finish intact. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with runged wire seam, the steel mounts heavily inlaid with silver en suite with the hilt. First half of the 19th century. Light wear overall. Overall length 97.6 cm. Condition I
