A fine example, dating to the period of Hungarian nationalism under the Austrian Empire. Of characteristic hussar form, mounted in elaborately-embellished brass and set with turquoises, the ergonomic wooden grip and scabbard bound in leather and embossed with what appears to be a family crest stamped in series, also found inlaid in brass at the forte of the finely-forged blade with broad central fuller and pronounced back edge, together with three rosettes. First half of the 19th century.Overall length 87.6 cm. Condition I
