Shield-shaped, all silver construction with finely-engraved and nielloed neoclassical and nationalistic motifs characteristic of Epiros, featuring the helmeted goddess Athena holding a spear in one hand and a severed Turk’s head in the other, flanked by owls and a stand of Greek flags. The hinged cap with pierced appliqué involving two eagles and the faces of three Greek gods or angels. With a belt loop and engraved rococo borders to the reverse. Beginning of the 19th century.Height 12.3 cm. Condition I
