Very rarely encountered from this region, the head forged of Persian Kara Khorassan wootz damascus steel, the pattern visible on one face, the lower edge with scrolled motif. With worn inlaid gold borders and flat peen. The wooden haft with velvet-covered central section, the large mounts of silver finely nielloed with flowering vine motifs overall. Mid-18th century.Areas of pitting.Overall length 57 cm. Condition III
