19th Century small "Bowie" knife (sometimes called a gambler's knife), manufactured by George Wostholm, Sheffield. Double edge spear point blade, measuring just under 5 1/2 inches, with ricasso marked "I XL GEORGE WOSTHOLM CELEBRATED CUTLERY". Nickel silver repousse handle, with flat oval guard. Leather over paperboard scabbard, with nickle silver throat, and missing chape. Knife is in overall good condition, with grey patina on blade, and some darkening from oxidization. Though original to knife, scabbard shows significant losses, primarily on tip. Overall good example.
