19TH CENTURY INDIAN KATARA DAGGER WITH SCABBARD

Antique Indian katara dagger, complete with wood and leather scabbard. Dagger is of rough iron construction, with 10.5 inch blade connected to "H" grip with two rivets. Blade appears to be possibly fashioned from a fragment of a European style sword blade (a common practice in katara construction of the period). Scabbard is of wood construction, bound with two rattan bands, and leather wrapped throat. Overall very good example.
