American Militia officer's sword, dating between 1820 and 1840. 31 inch straight blade, 11.5 inch fuller, and etched with decorative floral scroll, shield, and "E Plubris Unum" inside of starburst design. Gilt mameluke style quillon, with carved pattern ivory grip. Pommel is gilt figure of a perched eagle, holding US Shield. with chain extending from beak to quillon. Gilt brass scabbard, with floral scroll engraving, and federal eagle holding US Shield. Blade is in very good condition, with clear and detailed etching. Overall very good condition for the age, with minor losses to gilt finish on hilt, hairline fractures in ivory grip, and some losses to gilt on scabbard with very minor dings. Very good example of its kind.
