Ornate ceremonial presentation sword. Blade is acid etched "Presented to Capt. William Antonius Kavanaugh, by Company B. Brenard School, 1897-1898", surrounded by floral scroll. Maker marked Ridabock & Co. NY, NY. Hilt is an ivory handle, with gilt fittings. Scabbard is rolled steel, with gilt fittings. One fixed, and one folding clamshell guard. and acorn pommel. Overall very good condition.
