CSA Civil War light cavalry saber produced by William Glaze & Co. at Palmetto Armory. Curving 35 1/4 inch broad fullered blade, with ricasso marked Columbia S.C. Some patina and oxidization to blade, but overall good condition. Brass hilt fittings are slightly loose, with wire wrapped grip retaining about 70% of leather. Sword is complimented by an oval framed framed albumen photographic print of original owner, Ollie Murphy, depicted wearing the Southern Cross of Honor (aka Confederate Medal of Honor). This award was the Confederate equivalent to the Union Army's Medal of Honor. Frame measures 22.5 by 16 by 1 inches. Evidence of repair to the bottom back left, and loose backing, but overall good intact condition, making a very good historic grouping.
