Civil War unmarked Confederate cavalry saber, produced by L. Haiman of Columbus, GA. Bearing resemblance to the US M1860 with 35 inch curved blade with unstopped fuller. Often mistaken for unattributed "Dog River" Confederate swords due to lack of markings, this sword features the distinctive blade flaw and pommel, as well as the wide solder seams and thick brass ring mounts on the scabbard, all of which have come to be known as characteristic to the Haiman swords. Both sword and scabbard have an aged dark brown patina, and blade shows small aged nicks, likely from period service. Hilt fittings are slightly loose from age, and wire wrapped grip retains almost all of original leather. Overall very good example.
