Third model "India Pattern" Brown Bess P1796/1839 musket. This type of rifle was known for service in several colonial conflicts, such as the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. East India Company rampant lion logo on lock, brass hardware and trigger guard, with what appears to be Nepalese characters marked on bottom. Crown over "V," and crown over "GP" proof marks on top of barrel. Mellow brown patina over metal parts. Iron button head ramrod appears original and correct. Stock is very good for the age. Documentation of shipment to US, and original receipt are included with rifle. Caliber: .75 Caliber
