Relic of a Colt 1851 Navy revolver, manufactured in 1860. Percussion nipples and trigger had been removed from the gun, likely so it could be used as a child's toy. Despite re-use as a toy, and relic condition, numbered parts on gun are in fact matching. With the gun is a 19th Century daguerreotype picture of two women, in gilt frame and leather case. Gun and picture were reputedly found together in a shoe box underneath a 19th Century structure undergoing demolition in Atlanta, GA. Caliber: .36 Serial #: 96633
