Mid 19th Century pipe tomahawk attributed to Northern Plains (likely Assiniboine or Cree) Native Americans. Iron head measures about 7 inches, including pipe bowl, and tomahawk is overall 18 1/2 inches in length. Weeping Heart cutout on blade, with the name "WILLIAM PRINTUP" and an arrow mark stamped on one side. Beaded human scalp drop, with beaded geometric pattern covering half of handle, and animal hide covering the second half, with about 1 inch band of beads near end. Some loosening of beads near head of tomahawk, and a small glue repair to beads at end of handle. Overall excellent example.
