Uniquely crafted 19th Century apothecary chest, measuring 16 1/2 inches high, and 20 1/2 wide. Small upper drawers are constructed out of cigar boxes, while bottom drawers are simple wooden construction, all with ceramic white knobs. Back appears to be made of strips of rough cut wood, perhaps wall boards from a building. Bottoms of cigar box drawers still bear 1878 style tax stamps and caution notices, as well as branding of Peninsula Cigar Company, which failed in December of 1880. Apothecary chest is in very good condition, with no modern repairs or replacements.
