Pair of Aesthetic Movement Patinated Metal Busts of Mercury and Athena, Cast after a model of Leon Pilet (French 1830-1916), Mercury cast as a young classical warrior in a Renaissance style costume, his helmet headed by a dolphin mask, with side gargoyle epaulettes; Athena, her hair in braids, in revealing armor and a helmet with a menacing griffin mask; both mounted on gilt socle platform bases, the side of base inscribed "Leon.Pilet". {Height 16 inches}
