Circa 19th century, a copy (with BM incuse to the edge so possibly a cast from a BM electrotype?) of the famous Oxford crown by Thomas Rawlins. Obv: king riding left over cityscape with OXON above and CAROLVS D G MAG BRIT FRAN ET HIBER REX legend. Rev: three plumes and mark of value 'V' above RELIG PROTLEG ANG LIBER PARL inscription within floral scrolls with date and OXON below and DEVS DISSIPENTVR INIMICI EXVRGAT legend. (see S. 2948; N. 2407"). 17.98 grams.
