Dated 1753, George II halfpenny. Obv: profile bust with GEORGIVS II REX legend and initials at sides 'T' and 'H'. Rev: coin smoothed and engraved THO HALES BORN AUG 12 1753 in four lines. 8.87 grams. This piece, while probably a keepsake token, could be a convict piece and is worthy of research.

The coin worn; the inscription clear, scarce.
