26th Dynasty, 685-525 BC A large glazed composition wedjat amulet bead in brilliant blue with black eye and brow; pierced for suspension. Faience, 3.23 grams, 30 mm (1 1/4") From the Foxwell family collection; Mr H G and Miss E Foxwell purchased their collection from the late 1890's until the early 1920's, acquiring from the Forman collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1900") and the Mc Gregor Collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1922") and the Clements collection in 1923 and thence by descent.
