Hellenistic Period, 323-146 BC A mixed group of gold earrings comprising: a garnet set en cabochon on a discoid plate with filigree surround attached to a gold model sphinx, crouching on a tongue-shaped base with loop to rear; a wire with cast model cherub with hands on hips and splayed wings; a wire with cast model figure with hands on hips. Gold and garnet, 3.03 grams, 15-22 mm (1/2-1") Property of a European Gentleman living in London; acquired in the UK before 1980. [3, No Reserve]
