Circa 4th century BC A ceramic lekanis of Magna Graecian workmanship comprising a shallow bowl with pedestal foot and two loop handles to the sides; the lid with tall stepped discoid handle decorated with palmettes to the upper face, the sloped surface with two bands of reserved red chevrons on black; vertical slashes in red to the rim. Ceramic, 175 grams, 16 cm (6 1/2") Ex Bavarian collection and German auction.
