Circa 2nd century AD A gold finger ring with double-band hoop, each band with inset elliptical cabochon sapphire. Gold and sapphire, 6.57 grams, 22 mm (approximate size British Q 1/2, USA 8 1/4, Europe 18.0, Japan 17") (3/4") Property of a London Gentleman; acquired before 1985. Found Water Newton in 1974 by Henry Mossop.

Very fine condition.
