Circa 2nd-3rd century AD A gold finger ring with ribbed loop, pelletting to median band; the bezel formed as two elliptical cloison cells with granulation above and below, each containing a garnet intaglio, one depicting a standing cloaked male with a spear, the other an advancing female with a vase. Gold and garnet, 2.88 grams, 21 mm (approximate size British O, USA 7, Europe 14.98, Japan 14") (3/4") Property of a London Gentleman; acquired before 1985.
