Circa 2nd century AD A silver-gilt disc brooch with alternating bands of ropework, pelletted band and central cabochon garnet; pin-lugs to the reverse. Cf. Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity item 1073. Silver-gilt, 8.60 grams, 28 mm (1") Private collection, Nottinghamshire, UK; acquired late 1980's - early 1990's.

Very fine condition. Extremely rare.
