Circa 2nd-3rd century AD A cast bronze key handle formed as a crouching lion with its prey; the mane textured with hatching, the mouth open with the head of an animal protruding; the rear with ribbed square-section shank. Bronze, 260 grams, 90 mm (3 1/2") Ex Deeprose collection; found Northamptonshire, UK in February 2001.
