Circa 1st-2nd century AD A small jug in buff-coloured ceramic with deep basal ring, bulbous body, sharply carinated shoulder, tall conical neck and strap handle to the rear; the neck with double-collar at the upper edge and small spout; the handle with ribbed detail and pinched attachments at top and bottom; the shoulder with lightly incised linear decoration. Ceramic, 475 grams, 20 cm (8") Property of a Sussex Gentleman; acquired before 1990.
